Dyslexia Assessment

Adult Dyslexia Assessment

I have a wealth of experience in the diagnosis of specific learning difficulties (i.e. dyslexia, dyspraxia and dyscalculia) with post-16 years adults. I am qualified and experienced in the administration and interpretation of the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale Version IV (WAIS IV), which is the gold standard assessment of cognitive ability and general intelligence.

I have assessed hundreds of clients for intellectual capacity and for the presence of learning difficulties. It is very often the case that a new promotion, job changes or starting an academic course of study can raise difficulties that previously have been manageable or have gone unnoticed.

Whether you are experiencing difficulties in your workplace or academic studies; a confidential diagnostic assessment of your abilities by a Chartered Psychologist is the first step to gaining the support you need.

What is involved?

Assessments take up to three hours and include a range of tests investigating verbal comprehension, perceptual organisation, working memory and processing speed. A full review of literacy abilities is also undertaken. Following on from the assessment you are provided with a very detailed written report which provides tailored advice and guidance on such areas as what assistive technologies may be of use.

The assessment meets the set guidelines required to access funding if you are in higher education. If you are an employee a summary report can be written specifically for your employer with recommended adjustments and assistive technology advice.

I can combine this assessment with a full personality profile and review of documentary evidence. Additional information can provide more detail to interested parties of how dyslexia is affecting your day-to-day functioning.
